Nicola’s Home have been shortlisted for Restaurant – The Americas Award in The International Hotel and Property Awards 2023.
In response to the absence of a sophisticated dining establishment with high-design aesthetics in this region of Maine, Nicola’s Home was entrusted with the task of introducing a captivating and awe-inspiring ambiance typically associated with metropolitan areas. Inspired by the charming coastal culture of Sicily, they embarked on an endeavor to infuse the restaurant with an immersive experience.
Muted neutral tones, prevalent in the granite table and bar tops, carpeting, and fabrics, were tastefully complemented by vibrant pops of blue, reminiscent of the ocean, while tall green grasses served as an additional element enhancing the atmosphere. The meticulous integration of baskets and rope in lighting fixtures and décor further reinforced the coastal theme throughout the space.
To unify the concept, the design extended to three seasonal exterior spaces, which provided guests with an encompassing experience. These areas featured thoughtfully placed firepit seating, an abundance of unique woven and Capiz fixtures, and coastal-inspired hardscape and landscape elements.
Situated within a newly constructed, unassuming five-story office building in the heart of an upscale suburb of Portland, Maine, The Sicilian Table showcased its distinctive charm. Oversized glass windows emanated a warm glow from within, while a glassed pergola patio enclosure provided an additional source of inviting illumination, transforming the restaurant into a serene oasis within a bustling shopping plaza parking lot.
The mastermind behind this innovative design concept was none other than Nicola Manganello, in collaboration with Nicola’s Home, showcasing their exceptional creativity and expertise.
