ROSEWOOD HONG KONG
Rosewood Hong Kong have been Shortlisted for Hotel Under 200 Rooms – Global Award in The International Hotel and Property Awards 2021.
An ultra-luxury, residential-style property at the harbourfront Victoria Dockside district, Rosewood Hong Kong is distinguished by its rigorous approach to art and design. The 413-room hotel is located at a prime Victoria Harbour waterfront location at the former New World Centre on Salisbury Road in Tsim Sha Tsui and is at the epicentre of the new Victoria Dockside cultural district, with direct access to the new luxury art mall K11 Musea. The ultra-luxury hotel occupies 43 floors of the multi-use Rosewood Tower, a new landmark on the world-famous skyline.
Eight restaurants and bars are complemented by recreational facilities including Asaya, Rosewood’s integrated holistic urban wellness concept. The Manor Club executive lounge provides exclusive privileges while the third and fourth floor Grand Ballroom and Pavilion floors, the brand’s signature residential style meeting and function space, host elevated corporate events, conferences, and social celebrations. The 186-unit luxury Rosewood Residences has been designed for short and longer term stay rentals, with a dedicated private club and special services and amenities.
The project, the flagship for Rosewood Hotel Group, was eight years in the making, courtesy of global architecture firm Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates (KPF) and visionary hospitality designer Tony Chi of New York studio tonychi. The brief was to create a property that tapped into the historical importance of the location and reflect the legacy of the owning Cheng family, in particular the Cheng family’s founding patriarch, Dr. Cheng Yu tung and his son Henry Cheng, who, in the 1980s, established New World Centre as a major mixed-use shopping and residential destination on the site. Fundamental to Rosewood’s guiding A Sense of Place® philosophy, the hotel is a nuanced reflection of the destination with a distinctive vision of authentic cultural immersion and site-specific design, along with an air of home-like intimacy throughout.
The interior design juxtaposes materials such as dark timber, tiles, metal, glass, and leather. Combined with crafted details and exceptional art, the refined layering of textures and stories references family history, local heritage, and a sense of place.
design et al only work with the world’s leading designers.
